Paint Between Lines started a few years ago when I painted a bouquet of flowers on some beautiful paper stocks we had on hand. I had printed the illustration using our printer and the way the ink created a border that repelled the water colour paint made the process of colouring in with a brush unexpectedly relaxing and fun. Recently, I decided it was time to turn this concept into something tangible.
With over 15 years of experience running a greeting card business, Able And Game, I wanted to create illustrations that were not only fun to colour but were also useful objects for you could use. I didn’t want them to sit on a bookshelf. I wanted people to be able to give them to friends and family and share the joy of creating something. Each colouring sheet is designed to have a use, like an art print you can frame and hang, greeting cards for birthdays, and postcards for quick notes or to pin up on the office pinboard.
As someone juggling running a business and raising two kids, I find moments where I’m wholly involved in a task, where I can get into a flow state, to be the most rewarding and stress-relieving.
